We have really enjoyed seeing our Garden Structures being used for Halloween and Bonfire Night celebrations this year.
From decorating inside and out for a spooky Halloween party to pretty lights and luxury firework display viewing area, our customers have surprised us again with their ingenuity and creativity. Each time, we are amazed to see how versatile our Garden Structures & Lodges are and how they make such a wonderful addition to family life, even during lockdown and COVID-19.
If you are loving the ideas, and how our Authentic Arctic Lodges can be used as much as us, you might be wondering if it’s something you can do? Here are a few common questions we get asked by customers considering purchasing their very own Garden Structure in case you are thinking the same:
1. Do I need planning permission for my Garden Lodge?
In most circumstances, the answer is no as our Garden Structures usually fall into the temporary structure guidelines of a typical summer house, garden shed or greenhouse, however, you would need to check with your local authority planning department. If you are a listed building or have any restrictions on the land, planning permission may be required.
2. What do I put my Garden Structure on?
Our Garden Structures do require a solid base. The base should be hard and level and this is something that we ask you to set up before we arrive. Paving, decking, concrete and slabs are ideal. We recommend making it at least 150mm-230mm extra on each side and if you are using concrete it does need to be at least 6 inches deep.
3. I don’t have a side gate, how will you get it into my garden?
This does make it tricky but, rest assured, this has been the case many times before. We are great at problem-solving and working it out! We usually bring the pieces through your house, however, if you don’t have a side entrance just get in touch and we can talk about the different options. There is always a way!
4. What about if I move house. Do I just leave it behind?
Some people do sell their property with our Garden Structures included (which always adds value and interest) but many like to take it with them and ask us to help. We make arrangements with you to dismantle and reinstall in your new home. We always quote clearly, so you can continue to enjoy your Arctic Lodge or Room.
5. Do you only sell your Garden Structures in the UK?
We can deliver wherever you are! Unfortunately, we do have to include additional delivery charges if you are outside of the UK due to the increased costs, however we can ship and install anywhere in the world. The cost of course depends on your location. Just get in touch and we can give you all of the information you need.
